    Fitting Question - S30

My x-seam is about 40.5, and I ride an S30. I had similar issues with the thighs touching the handlebars, which were pretty well solved with 150 mm cranks. If you haven't found my build thread for that bike already, click on the "S30" in my signature. It's full of trial and error, a few...

    V2 Tires

I have those same tires on my S30. I've been running them at 80 psi, maybe a tad more up front. Rider weight 135. I feel like I'm getting a little better grip in turns than I did with the Conti GP 4 Seasons (700 x 28, 90 psi) I was running before. I don't notice any difference in speed.

    Absolute Black Premium Oval Chainrings

I use older Rotor Q-rings on my S30, and my Quest came equipped with a slightly elliptical Cruzbike e-ring (a brief experiment, apparently, long since discontinued). I can't say they make me faster, but my knees like them. I had previously used Q-rings in the middle and outer positions of a...

Thor seat on S30v2 vs. handlebar height

Still pleased with the Junebug handlebar. Could possibly cut the stem riser another 5-6 mm, but it's close enough. I can do about 30 seconds at a time no-hands before I lose concentration. It isn't the relaxed Jim Parker hands-behind-the-head style, by any means. I find it easier to transition...

MI Cruzbike retreat 2020 - August 6-9, 2020 Benton Harbor Michigan

@3bs If my daughter weren't getting married in August, I'd probably sign on for this. Y'all are going to have a lot of fun.

    Silvio 2.0 Seat back angle.

I see the difference. Thank you.

    Silvio 2.0 Seat back angle.

Well, sort of. The original S30 did have front suspension and the 28-degree seat angle. A later version replaced the suspended fork with a rigid one, bringing the seat angle up to 33 degrees. That's the one I have.

    Flat

I took the Q out for a ride through town after (tele)work yesterday. I came up on one street where there was random debris left from a fallen tree. Of course this is what came to mind as I dodged bits of wood. I didn't shout it (this time). :D

    S-40 Bike maintenance stand

Speaking of color, I see that lovely yellow! Have you had it out on the road yet?

    QX100 Production History

Approximately fall 2015 to spring 2018. It came in black, dark blue, and dark green, IIRC. Not sure how much they can tell from the serial number.

    new S40 colours coming March 31, 2020

Three good colors, I'd ride any of them. The Electric Blue is my favorite, though.

To ride or not to ride, due to COVID- 19

I've been riding outside some, mostly on the Q. Traffic is light to nonexistent, and I know the roads well. One advantage of living in a small town. Walking or light jogging other days.

    Q ring upgrade - Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh......

If it feels good, it's probably right. Ride it as-is for a while. If your knees start to bother you, or you feel like the max diameter should come a little sooner or later in the pedal stroke, adjust the ring by one OCP #. I had 50/34 Q-rings for years. The 34T is so small that it's barely even...

    Perfect handlebar for a V20

We'll go with that. LOL. I get so many funny looks for the bike itself, that most folks don't even realize they're looking at disoriented drop bars. You even found one with "safety" brakes! :p New one on me. I still wonder who came up with this idea of putting twist shifters on a drop...

    Perfect handlebar for a V20

Yeah, I agree it's funny-looking.:D But I have a good solid place to grip, a comfortable hand and wrist position, the ends of the bars don't interfere with my thighs, I have bar-end mirrors where I can see them easily without looking down. Upside-down shifting is a non-issue; for me, it's an...

Too big or too small for Cruzbike? Check the Chart. Take the Poll.

I'm 5'5" with a 40.5" x-seam, well within the green area. My son is almost 5'10", with an x-seam close enough to mine that he fits comfortably on both my Cruzbikes with little or no adjustment. My 4'10" niece was able to ride my Quest easily when it still had the 451 wheels, once I shortened...

Questions about upgrading S30 to disc brakes

Mine measures about 18" from the center of the skewer to the end of the flat part, where the ring attaches that goes around the BB shell.

Questions about upgrading S30 to disc brakes

Haven't tried locking it up yet. It does feel like it has better stopping power, not so mushy on the rear wheel, but not "grabby" either. I'm used to disc brakes from my Q. These are nicer. Thank you! I'm using the chainstay that came with it, whatever size that is. I'm 5'5", with a 40.5"...
