    Silvio S 30 Thailand

When I had my Sofrider I must have subconsciously learned to point my toes forward to keep my feet on the platform pedals. I really don't think it takes much effort. I didn't notice what I was doing until I put clipless pedals on my Silvio and realized I didn't have to point my toes anymore --...

    QX100 or Sofrider 2

If you can afford it, I would definitely go with a new Q over a used Sofrider. I had a Sofrider v2. It was heavy, bulky, and the tuning of the front derrailleur was never right after many visits to my local bike shop. I'm sure the QX100 is an improvement.

    Cruzbike model names

The numbers for the newer Silvio and Vendetta models are the approximate seat angle (30 degrees for the Silvio, 20 degrees for the Vendetta). It seems confusing because people seem to assume higher number = somehow more advanced. It doesn't mean that here. The QX100 is based on the old Quest...

Boom ... was that an S30 that just passed you?

If the steerer tube is long enough on the new fork (I doubt it is) and you put some kind of spacer where the shock used to be, you ought to be able to swap in the new front end and keep the steering geometry intact. Or if you are willing to change the steering geometry (have the fork at a...

Spring Time - Learning To Ride Time

I only do it sitting up rather than lying back in the seat, but yes, definitely.

Boom ... was that an S30 that just passed you?

Looks cool. This would be my new bike if my 2.0 blew up. I would guess that the new front end could not go on either 2.0 or a previous S30 without changing the fork angle and affecting handling (the frame is probably welded at a different angle and the fork height has clearly changed). I guess...

    Q-ring/front derailleur issue

It's been a while since I last went through the Yaw setup, so my memory is hazy, but I did it without a cable puller and came out with no chain rub (Silvio 2.0, 50/34 chainrings, 11-32 cassette). None of the instructions (included SRAM instructions or recommended online videos) worked well for...

    Comparability issues?

Then 11 speed should be fine, but the issue with the BB diameter and the Cruzbike clamps still applies.

    Comparability issues?

Quick answer, there are a couple of potential issues: - The Silvio 2.0 did not officially support 11 speed groupsets. The front dropout spacing may not quite fit your 11 speed wheel + cassette. - The outer diameter of the newer Shimano BB is too small to fit the Cruzbike BB clamps. You would...

    Q-ring/front derailleur issue

Quest doesn't come with an FD. It looks like QX100 has the FD attached to the boom. If you added an FD to your Quest, I assume you clamped it to the boom? Different situation from the V or S with FD mounting stalk, where the FD does not move with the boom, but is fixed relative to the chainstay.

    Q-ring/front derailleur issue

I thought the introduction of the FD mounting stalk was supposed to solve this sort of problem (versus attaching the FD directly to the boom) since the stalk does not rotate with the boom during adjustment, but stays at a constant angle to the chainstay?

You can! Lengthen the boom, then move the bars closer.

A Seat Angle Question - Vendetta versus Silvio

The two frames are cut and welded onto the fork/headset area at a different angle. The rear stays are also different. Only the "core" aluminum tube that the seat goes onto is really the same.

    Flat Front Shock

The instructions say to loosen the bolts (and quick release) before adjusting like this. I do not think it's designed to pivot when tightened.

    Flat Front Shock

The Kind Shock manual says this, but the Cruzbike assembly instructions say "adjust to 150psi, working range is 40 to 200psi". The carbon fiber chainstay flexes. I do not think any of the joints in the Silvio front triangle are designed to pivot.

    Flat Front Shock

Very familiar. Eventually I inflated to 200 psi and it stopped happening. I tried greasing under the shock boot and exercising the shock, but that never helped. I also never found signs of a leak.

    Sebring 2016

Update from Instagram a little while back: cruzbikeJim is done! 4:15 is his unofficial century finish time. Larry is out of the race after a mechanical and a fall. Fingers crossed his shoulder is not seriously injured.
