    First street ride

62...You're kidding, right? I hope to look as youthful and fit as you when I am sixty-two! Great photo and a great write-up. I couldn't agree more with your sentiment about the Silvio, but how quickly you've taken to it speaks volumes of you as a cyclist.

    Sram Dual Drive

SRAM Dual Drive - Maintenance-Free According to SRAM's documentation: "DualDrive hubs are provided with permanent lubrication and maintenance-free under normal conditions." There may not be any added benefit to following Bike Friday's Dual Drive manual and like John said, I...

Do you want to make 'bents more popular? Do you want to make the world healthier?

That reminds me... I had a rather odd dream last night where I was telling my daughter about the advantages of riding a Cruzbike compared to an upright. In my dream, I clearly remember giving the pitch: "Do you want to ride faster and further than you've ever dreamed possible without the...

Do you want to make 'bents more popular? Do you want to make the world healthier?

Yep It's an expensive 30 seconds, and Protect Your What-What would require 3x that amount. Not to speak ill of football fans (I am a Steelers fan after all) but most don't have the attention span for a minute-and-a-half commercial.

Want to ride across the USA with an ultralight setup. Is the Silvo up for the job?

Rack Mounts? Charles, I don't believe there are rack mounts on the 2.0. Can you reference an image showing the installation of a rear rack? I'm not saying that it cannot be done, I am just doubtful as to how well an off-the-shelf product would work without modification. Thanks!

Want to ride across the USA with an ultralight setup. Is the Silvo up for the job?

I would prefer the Silvio v1.5 The latest iteration of the Silvio (v2.0) is even more performance-oriented than the previous versions. I would consider it a pure race bike, whereas the Silvio v1.x was more adaptable to light duty touring in that it had accomodations for a rear rack.

Can a silvio take mountain bike parts?

Brakes You'll also need road caliper brakes. Disc brakes, v-brakes and cantilevers are not compatible with earlier versions of the Silvio. The Silvio 2.0 accepts disc brakes.

    Cable Routing on Sofrider V2

Yes. I'm not an expert, but I can imagine that shifting may be compromised by the cable routing or worse yet, steering might be restricted causing an accident. If it's fine, only you can be the judge. I I were to reroute the cables, I would shift the lower derailleur to the smallest cog...

Rubbing on outer chain ring causing gears to shift V2 Sofrider

Maybe a Bent Chainring I know this would usually be obvious, but a chainring that is slightly bent is sometimes the culprit. The fact that you say the bike will change gears without shifting points to this as a possibility, especially with ramped and pinned chainrings, which have a lesser...

    Cable Routing on Sofrider V2

Did you run the cables Did you run the cables through the fork or yoke of the boom slider where it connects to the pivot clamp? I AM PROBABLY NOT USING THE RIGHT TERMINOLOLGY. Ugh...caps lock. Sorry. If you remove the bolts that connect the black boom segment to the clamp, run all four...

Has anyone tried Ultegra 2x11spd 6800?

@ TMCTGUER I'm not Doug Burton, but I do run Campagnolo Centaur 10 on my beloved Silvio. The external diameter of the cups are in keeping with what you'd find from SRAM or Shimano. With that said, I imagine that the Campy external BB would work just fine on your Vendetta. If I'm mistaken...

    Silvio Seat Pads

I rode a relatively fast I rode a relatively fast 24-mile group ride at 21 mph average last week without my bottom seat pad. I had inadvertently left the seat pad in my wife's car and had to go without it. The Silvio seat was still comfortable even without padding. I am not saying that no...

Getting Ready for a Test Ride of the Silvio 2.0

Just buy it :-) You know you want it already and once you see it, you're not going to be able to resist it. I saw one in person today and even the best photos do not do the Silvio 2.0 justice.

    Silvio 1.0 and 2.0 Comparison

consider the 2.0 Only you can be the judge, but the 2.0 sounds likea good match for the more reclined, agressive position you are used to.
