    Bottle Cages

Anybody else notice how people think you can't reach the bottle cages on the seat back? I hear it all the time. One fellow recumbent rider expressed to me what a neat bike the Silvio was and then said, "Too bad you can't drink while you ride!" Huh? If you can scratch your back, you can reach...

Will Schwinn Ditch 3.0 work as donor bike?

+1 You could maybe leave the disc brake on the back, but the deal killer would be the mount on the fork and the seat height. Mark

What put you on a Cruzbike?

Personally, I'd been riding recumbents off and on for years. I remember when they first came out with the kits. I remember thinking it was kind of cheesy. The cool kids certainly weren't building kits! I had been interested in FWD for quite some time. The twist chain FWD never did anything...

    Communications Issues

Just shows to go ya'...... Just how dependent we are on these stupid computers! Sometimes, I seriously wonder how I ever got along without it. I know people that are not connected and I often wonder how they survive! ;) Mark

Fitting rear axle to front fork

Fit the brackets to your wheel first, then do what you need to do to fit them to the forks. That's what I do. Mark

    Kit on Kestrel??

If they have horizontal dropouts.... KIDS! The only people that have money, too! There's a fixed gear craze going on and these kids are snapping up classic road bikes and converting them. Old Schwinns you used to be able to pick up for five or ten dollars at yard sales are now commanding...

    Rear derailleur shifting issues

    Rear derailleur shifting issues

Just for giggles, I went out and pulled my derailleur off. I have a similar mark on my hangar, BUT... My derailleur has a e-clip that holds the mechanism together and THAT shims it out to where it just tightens up against that shoulder. I would guess yours is similar, Lev. Mark

    Rear derailleur shifting issues

I'd Dremel it out. You'll still have ample flat surface to mate up to. Mark

Right click on the red x's and select "show picture" Everybody receives the Silvios quite well. We all asked each other lots of questions about the other bikes. The VK II was really nice. Really cool little bike. Yes, we're pretty lucky. I think we're overdue for a recumbent club in this...

    Team Silvio, SoCal

Here's a picture taken at our most recent SoCal ride. Left to right, myself, Tom Roberts and Defjack. The Silvios represented Cruzbike quite well! Besides the three Silvios, we had a VKII, a Corsa, two Giros, a Terratrike and a Rocket. Oh yeah, we had a wedgie ride along, too, so we were...
