How do you fit a Silvio to your body?

JonB nailed it. Effectively, what happens is longer legged people end up with a lower bottom bracket. Shorter legged folks have their feet in the air. I have pretty long legs and I have no issues with the bike. As far as fitting the bike to your needs; On an upright road bike, there are so...

    bike for conversion kit

It's the right general type, but it looks like your seat height might be a tad high. On the other hand, if you have long legs, it could be just fine. The fork looks to be pretty low end and you may find you bottom out on it more than you like. If this is a bike you already own, go for it! If...

My first big ride with the Silvio

Congratulations, Blaine! That's fantastic news; glad you had a great ride. Isn't the Silvio the greatest? If I had to make a guess, I would guess the other Silvio rider you saw was Brewmaster. Mark

Not the exact dimensions, but I remember being shocked how small the box was. Mark

    23 0r 25 tires?

I wouldn't be so worried about ride quality as I would contact patch for climbing. Speaking of tires... I noticed the front tire on my bike is way more worn than my rear tire. Contrary to how any other bike wears tires. I have also noticed that I'm spinning the tire on startups a little...

    need help attaching fork

+1... I forgot to include the part about reversing the fork. However, on my original conversion, I still ended up shimming to get clearance. Every bike is different, though. On the conversion my daughter is riding, I didn't need to shim very much, at all. Mark

    need help attaching fork

You need to shim it out between the fork and the part of the bracket that hose clamps to the fork. Probably quarter to half an inch. Mark

Midrack - this is how it is done

Jon, The picture above is more or less what I'm talking about.... It does appear that the attachment on your particular pannier is sufficient, possibly no need for the lower attachment. Mark

Midrack - this is how it is done

Jon, I have a question. How does your bag attach to the aluminum rod? Many panniers just have two hooks on top that hang on the rail, then have a hook on an elastic strap on the bottom. The hook and elastic strap arrrangement is to keep the pannier from jumping off the rack when you hit a...

    Read this today!

I have an understanding with hard liquor; we leave each other alone, period. Oh.. I have an occasional shot of tequila at Christmas time (though I skipped last year), but that's about it. Now beer.... That's another story. We have no such understanding and we frequently mess with each...

The only 1" suspension fork I could find, anywhere!

That looks like it will work if the 200mm threaded will fit your headtube. Mark

    Read this today!

The way I read it, it's a promotional stunt for a vodka company. You have to wonder how much research they put into their route... Is it safe? Do they avoid major arteries and such? Great opportunity if you were going to do it anyway.... Or are on layoff. Mark

    Commute to work

I leave the house at between 5:00 and 5:20. I start work at 7:00. This allows me time to shower/shave, have breakfast #2 and such before I get crackin'. Mark

    My Little Cruzer

Sorry for over-reacting. For some reason, the more I read your response, the more it dug at me and I realize (or at least, should know) you didn't mean it like that. So, I apologize for blowing up. Like I told Peder, posting over here would have to be her idea. Maybe she will, maybe...

    My Little Cruzer

Thanks, Peder, I have no issues if she posts over here and I would like her to, but it would have to be here idea. I think she's too busy keeping up with her friends online to be bothered with a bunch of geezers. ;) Mark
