Spring Time - Learning To Ride Time

He’s got it right. Practice will bring your fitness to the same level for this new skill. Add in a laid back seat of 40 degrees and you will likely be similar to your your road bike speeds - not climbing nor accelerating because the Q is heavier - but probably similar but withmore comfort from...

How difficult is it to replace front disc brake cable housing?

You would need to be aware that your brakes would not operate nearly as well because the gear cable is thinner and not as strong and so it could much more easily snap from the increased tension of braking vs. shifting. Also the cable would be able to move within the housing a little making it...

    Vendetta v.1 newbie question

I like all of your solutions but there may be a better way. A brass instrument mouthpiece remover or similar. Basically it is two metal plates with a large slot into each so that it can fit perpendicular to the tubes to be separated. Pac man shaped sliders that allow you to adjust the size of...

Tubeless wheel setup - does it initially spin not as long?

For most say “No” to WD40. It helps clean and gives very lightweight lubricant. It can work for @Frito Bandito because he keeps rides in very good ie. clean environment, keeps things spotless, re-lubes on schedule, etc. For many people it will provide cleaning but the lubricating abilities are...

Tubeless wheel setup - does it initially spin not as long?

If you wanted to compare you would have a lot of variables to eliminate before getting to anything resembling a fair comparison. In a vacuum. Same force applied (wheel speed might be what you want but based on your description it is force - weight applied to outside of wheel tangential to...

    First 1000 Km!

Re: wheel slip. In order of effectiveness: -carrying in as much speed as possible -shifting early. But not too easy a gear - when the wheel does slip you need to have enough momentum in the wheel spin to get your next pedal stroke. That is, if you are in 24x42 you are going to spin from 2km/h...

    S30 rear suspension/elastomer

It looks like you take off the wheel, then take off the spring (flat rectangle of titanium), then take out the elastomer which is held in place by a bolt through the center that probably also functions as the depth setting mechanism and either scres into the frame or into the spring holder.

Waxing how long does it last.

Waxing or non, legs, arm pits, backs, or beards won’t make the difference but non-judging, mental friends - they are my favourite kind.

Welcome to the new spot to talk about ZWIFT

The accessories mentioned that you might want to collect from a bike store or supplier if you don’t have them already are heart rate monitor and cadence sensor that communicates to Zwift via ANT+ or Bluetooth or via your phone to Zwift. Neither of these are necessary to get started and you may...

Welcome to the new spot to talk about ZWIFT

Yup. Any fan will help. The quieter squirrel cage type such as shown above blow more air with less noise. Buying brand name bike specific for fan makes a donation to the vendor - a hardware store should have one that matches the decor in the garage or basement and makes your wallet smile.

    Vosadrian's V20 Journey - Australia

And even when it is “dirty” you don’t get dirty. When you get rid of chain oil itself, get rid of the dirt it collects, and get rid of the Aluminum oxide from rim brakes you have eliminated almost all of the dirt. And winter dirt (salt and sand) is greatly reduced too.

    What if Idid this s40

What about if you rotate the bar down so that the orientation is more horizontal like on the diamond frame and grip at the “curve”. That might get you drops-finger and under-hood-thumb especially with a flared bar and one that is flat under the curve like the genetic digest.

Waxing how long does it last.

@jond This may belong in the banter container: I prefer Esau (a hairy man) on my Cruzbike legs but Jacob (thoroughly waxed) on the chain.

When I asked the guys at MoltenSpeedwax they said they ride all year round in Minnesota.

    New S40

Flat mount disc - new standard for mounting disc callipers. Less parts = lighter. Easier too? Thru axle - new standard for axles - safer (no possibility of accidental quick release) and stiffer wheel attachment especially front fork =better power transfer. Possibly lighter. Disadvantage: takes...

Spring Time - Learning To Ride Time

@David 19 Soon you will be asking the same question about riding uphill no hands. Realistically, some have their brains, legs and pedal stroke adjust easily and some it takes more time but we all get to the point that we are not thinking about it. The drills help to speed the process. Higher...

How difficult is it to replace front disc brake cable housing?

+1 It is easy. +1 on watch YouTube Tips: Use the old housing piece(s) as templates to measure how long to cut the new housing. And if you end up with the housing a bit squished then use an awl or little round screwdriver to open it up again. A sanding block or bench grinder can take down...

    Vendetta 2.1 ultegra di2 10 speed

@NeaL If you are still larger than average you might want to check into whether you need to re-spoking that rear Cruzbike wheel to a stronger spoke pattern. Radial spokes look great but are not necessarily the ideal for your use case. I’ll spot you the re-spoking funds if that is all that...
