    Silvio Car Rack?

Because gun racks went out of style. ;) Mark

    New Fenders!

I've been eyeballing the PB fenders for some time. I suspect the clattering thing could be remedied with a small strip of an old innertube rubber cemented to the fender where it hits the brake. ;) Mark

    New Fenders!

I've been looking at fenders like that for the Silvio. I'm hoping to keep them easy on/off for winter riding. Mark

Conversion Bike draws lots of attention

I'm always amazed at how many people look hard at my conversion and can't see the mountain bike lurking beneath the Cruzbike exterior. On our group ride today, we stopped for water at a convenience store and there were a couple guys that were absolutely freaking out over my bike. They were...

    Sofrider1 vs. conversion bikes

A friend of mine, who used to own a bike shop and is a huge fan of Rohloff hubs, said that Nuvinci hub really isn't rated for the kind of riding we do. It's more of a cruiser, lollygag around the park kind of gear. And yeah, it's pretty chunky. Mark

    Sofrider1 vs. conversion bikes

I would tend to believe that unless you got really lucky and found a good quality Y-frame for cheap, most conversions are going to be pretty chunky weight-wise. My own conversion was based on just a cheap Pacific mountain bike frame. It probably sold in Walmart, or one of the Dept. stores...

    Safe Pedals

Hi Jack! I haven't ever tried regular Eggbeaters. I sure do like the Quattros, though. Maybe the large platform is the difference. Mark

    Safe Pedals

I drove over to Rancho Cucamonga to buy some Keen Commuters, as my Shimano sandals have seen their better days. I didn't care for the way they felt and wasn't willing to gamble I'd get used to them. Glad you like them, Jon, I heard lots of good things about them. Sorry for the hijack. Mark

    Safe Pedals

I've been running Crank Bros. Quattros, which is their road version of the Eggbeater. I have been using carbon soled road shoes and had no real issues. The key is, the Quattro has a large platform around the locking mechanism, which makes them forgiving if you don't mesh right away. I've...

Befitting of a Silvio: Shimano Di2

Pretty soon, they'll have a full electronic version, where you can sit in front of a TV and imagine you're actually cycling. In fact, you won't even have to imagine that hard because they will have sights and sounds. You might have to import the smells. And then, you can interract with riders...

    Is this an age thing?

Who's Bob? I commute to work, so it's almost like cheating. I understand, though; it would be impossible to do if I were a single parent. I think beer should be part of any nutritional breakfast. Wait, did I say that out loud?   Mark

    Is this an age thing?

That's pretty impressive, Harold. I had a pretty good cycling diet at one time, in another lifetime. Now, unfortunately, I have a taste for good beer and barbecue. Not condusive to a good cycling diet. Because of my diet, or lack thereof, I need to lose about 50 pounds...

    Adjustable Bottle Cage

Looks like a pretty neat idea. The big thing would be how firmly that top holds the top of the bottle. As you know, most cages are designed to work more or less straight up and down, or at a laid back angle, as on a down tube. The seat back angle of a Silvio in opposite, which puts the bottle...

    New Boom

That is really cool, John. It also speaks volumes about the kind of company Cruzbike really is. How can you go wrong with service like that? Mark

"Long range" Silvio for daily use

I started reading a.r.b.r several years ago and the same discussions over and over and the same trolls saying the same garbage over and over. No thanks. The thing about even these "private" forums is even google bots and yahoo bots pick up tidbits off of them. If somebody does a search for...

"Long range" Silvio for daily use

It's a good idea to NOT post your number in a public Internet forum. Better to do that in a PM (private message). Mark

    Is this an age thing?

It depends, for me. Most of the time, I blast off right from the door. But, sometimes I have to ease into it. FWIW, I'm 47, soon to be 48. Mark

    Giant Cruzbike test ride

Yeah, yeah, I hear ya on the bike porn. Hey! Tell us about the Silvio! Mark

    Giant Cruzbike test ride

Cool! I'm afraid my little Trek frame will be too short of wheelbase, but I'm going to build it, anyway. Nothing ventured, nothing gained! Mark

    Carrier possibility for Silvio?

Yes and no.... Certainly the design is plausible, but the odds of that matching up to the Silvio seat are slim to none. You could no doubt adapt it, or if you knew somebody that could build you one... Certainly it could work. Mark
