What I did to prepare for Sebring 2017 ---today

It's all automated. I doubt it will look like the track; I'm mostly concerned with the curves and the the turn around. Just to pedal through that once should help take the surprise out of it.

Recover went good on the day off felt fresh and finished Ericsson without wondering how the rest of the week is going to go. Just to clarify the warm up is 15 minutes. Don't confuse the ramp with the intervals.. That big spike on the front end has a very specific purpose to shock your legs and...

Heads up; Flo Wheels are back in stock

Update on this. My Flo-90s are at the factory. Engineers have confirmed what I found 90Carbons are not working with tubeless tires. Now they are trying to figure out how to fix that.

Both SRAM and Shimano output that data. SRAM Natively; Shimano if you add the extra ANT+ transmitter. Garmin records them into the fit file as part of the current standard. You can pretty much expect everyone with electric shifting to support it. That Data is just too useful for year end...

Ok back to the Gearing Chat; took the flatland race file from September and put the data into di2stats.com digital can be so cool...because what you recall and what you actually did don't always match up. For the lap race http://www.di2stats.com/rides/view/22148 raced it in 11-14 using 15-17...

What I did to prepare for Sebring 2017 ---today

Yep we had the same thing in Iowa but we did opt to install a 11-23 because I decide I wanted all the gears between 14-15-16-17-18 in single step so that I could meter out a steady state regardless of the winds. All the other stacks were missing the 16, 17 or the 18. Having never done this...

It mean don't pay attention to it during the test go off of perceived exertion. To successfully test you will probably need to "preset you FTP" to 100watts to prevent blowing up prior to the test block when in erg mode. When you get to the test blow you will definitely need to be in...

During the FTP test ignore HR it going to go through the ceiling and it's suppose to. The tests are a bit funny; they start in ERG mode but then they switch to slope mode during the test. IF this didn't happen you'd never be able to test and FTP increase. But they tend to go to slope mode 3...

That should do it. Last item for the day, got signed up for Best Bike Splits which is nice. Punched in all my data and it says I can rind the 89 mile loop at 159 watts and turn a 20.6 mph average with my current fitness. Guess I better get back to training. If we can get the wind tunnel...

Did some checking and none of the online video ride services has a video ride of the sebring event that's complete. But bkool.com will create a 3D simulation that you can ride. All that is required is to sign up and send them a GPX file. So as soon as I can track down a GPX file then I'll sign...

What I did to prepare for Sebring 2017 ---today

Finished Maclure: valleys in little ring at 100rpm, hills in big ring at 100 rpm. Goal was to see when the "Drag" from the weeks worth of training load took effect. Glutes rather sore from about 1:30 onward. Monitoring a MAF+5 level I was able to get until 2:19 before the average drifted into...

Rode Eclipse today after a day of rest and still got crushed; so time to accept that those 15 days of crappy training at the start of the month cost my; adjust FTP back down to 212 and we able to finish the ride. Gotta keep it real and keep moving forward. No point in over reaching.

    Q ring upgrade - Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh......

That's pretty cool I don't think anyone has found that before. It was known to be the case but not documented. For most riders with a correct fit on a V20 we find that 18º below 3 o'clock corresponds to about 70º above 3 o'clock. Riders with short legs are going to favor #1-2 as a starting...

    Q ring upgrade - Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh......

Most start that way; it gives you the cleanest shipping. But you can run them offset to get different attributes for climbing versus cruising

    questions about power meters?

Would be great to get that answered. I have seen Aluminum Rival's drilled they are definitely hollow and and don't work, APEX there is are some tricks; for example if you want 155mm you have to special order 180mm. 153mm and shorter you can start with a 175mm (or something like that). Looking...

Yes there is no issue not having a "picked plan" until 4 months ago that calendar didn't even exist. What you can do it enter your plan into Training peaks or you can use use paper. We have ours hanging on the wall in the house as a print out.
