    SOLD -- T 50 frameset, Green, $775/obo

I'm in Chico, and would consider adding it as a second T50. I have a modded yellow one now. Also can then give away the old Sofrider! ;) Bummer I didn't see this a couple days ago. Just got back from Sacramento on Greyhound! PM me with details if you can.

    Another seat option

This is a one man shop, I believe. He is in Germany. He has pictures of his manufacturing process somewhere. I've seen them before. There are two models available.

    Recumbent Butt

I have a theory that a level seat base causes recumbutt. So what CC says will essentially be creating a "nose-up" seat base. That is, a little more cushion that will bulge up a little forward of your butt. I think it provides a better butt-seat interface in that more of you is supported by pad...

Silvio 2.0 Boom & Slider Replaced

So close, but so far! You can get 38mm short stems. They were made for freeride and downhill MTB's. I have one one on my 38.1mm boom. And the bar clamp is 31.8. Might also work if the ID of your boom is similar to the OD of the extension part of a another stem, you could weld it into the end of...

Does the MBB FWD negate any wind issues for deep rims?

So I know a few of the speedy folk here are using deep section carbon rims. Does wind effect the steering at all? With the extra strength and damping of the legs, I would think any wind twitchiness would get just get absorbed and not really matter. Is that the case?

    weirdest interaction with motorist

It was a car, not a white van covered with bumper stickers? Usually the real freaks are in white vans.

Shortening the steerer tube of Q45

You can get your seat lower on the bike if you reverse the seat mounting plate 180 degrees. It fits either way. It'll be a bit more nose up, but workable. Not only does it move it down, but back a little as well. Then your cranks can be a little higher.

    Starting to assemble my Franken-T

I did. I also had to make a flat spot for the bolt heads to sit. But I only had to drill out the top. The big bolt that holds everything together clamps the bottom part. So I only needed the two little bolts at the top...

    S40 Frame

This would be good for "frankensteining" with a Quest fork and Emeljay mod, if anyone is inclined. :) Would change the steering geometry very slightly. I already have my FrankenT, so this looks like a mod for someone else!

    Some newbie questions.

I went with these no name bars. They do need a 31.8 handlebar clamp stem though. They're great! 660mm wide. They fit mountain components, so your Quest stuff will mount on them...

    A very worthy upgrade! :)

    Q45 My first 100 miles

I think it's a more standard 160MM eye-to-eye on the new one. The original quest used a super short shock.

    Chain stay costs?

Maybe bolting on some new rear-dropouts would work as an alternative? Telescoping frame section? That would really change the head-angle though.

My first Recumbent, my first week...

Sounds like you are having a great time! You will also not get "recumbum" as easily with the nose up a bit. Recumbum happens when you have a lot of weight on your bum (VS the seat back), and your tushy, pelvis actually, is at a somewhat oblique angle to the seat. So by nosing up the seat, you...
