    A stoppie on a recumbent!!!

I've done that for a couple feet, by accident/necessity a few times. Soft landing is normal. Note that the landing is not really super-soft in the video either. He is bouncing a bit.

Picked up my T50 frame at the post office today!

Going with a 1 by 11. I hate front derailleurs! :) Also found the 1.5 inch slider tube that fits, and 1.5 inch short stem to go on it. Just need to figure out the proper pivot clamp for the 28.6mm steerer to 38mm slider tube. I have a couple ideas for it already. Waiting on a camera (old one...

Picked up my T50 frame at the post office today!

I went with the yellow based on a couple real-world photos that have been posted. It is indeed the "Vendetta" yellow. Looks really nice. A far cry from the pale yellow shown on the product page. ;) Makes me wonder if the blue is also far more luscious then the product page image? Anyway. I'll...

Thor seat on S30v2 vs. handlebar height

You could also use a stem riser to gain a few inches of height, instead of whole new slider. https://www.amazon.com/Handlebar-FOMTOR-Bicycle-Extender-Mountain/dp/B075FL6JXP

Outside diameter of S40 boom slider?

Hi Craig, Thanks for info there. I'm working on on Emeljay mod idea, but with a 38 mm slider that goes over the lower T50 boom. So a 1 1/8 stem clamp and 38mm (1.5 inch) clamp is where I'm headed. I've got one halfway fashioned already using 1.5 inch rollbar light clamps. But thought I would...

Outside diameter of S40 boom slider?

I am curious what the OD of the boom slider is, and if the pivot clamp can be purchased separately?

    Generic upgrade concepts

Chains are basically a whole bunch of bushing-bearings (chain pins) all interconnected. I suppose there could be one of these with bushing bearings instead of roller bearings. How long does your chain last? So far drive shafts are simple and durable, but not efficient. I wonder if it needs...

    Direct drive recumbent.

Looks all there to me. :) Suspended and unsuspended bikes. Gearbox for frame mount or hub/crank-gearbox. 7 or 12 speeds. Much more refined designs now. My only concern is having the cranks so low. I'm used to having them at seat height, or a bit higher.

    Red T50 Frameset for sale

Do you have a current asking price, or shall we just bid based on based on your original cost?

Here is a video just about it.

They have done more than that. By having the "gear teeth" be bearings, it is probably slicker than well designed involute gears (like in your car). The "tooth" rolls with the passing cog-notch in this case.

That is super cool, but I think you lose a great deal of efficiency just changing angle in power transfer like that. This transfers power at 90 degrees, while a chain is straight. But I want one anyway if they make them! And UCI was concerned about spinning disc rotors! ;)

    T50 vs Q45 boom stiffness?

All Cruzbikes use 1 1/8 headsets don't they? So you could totally mix-and-match. Gluing clamping a long stem in the end of the tube should as stiff as the slider tube junction if done properly. I was going to stiffen that up to by extending the slider tube towards the bottom bracket as far as...

    T50 vs Q45 boom stiffness?

Hi Mark, The first tube I got off Amazon was so close, but ended up binding. I had to order one from a metal supply place. Hopefully it'll work this time. It'll actually end up with an OD of 38.1. I have some clamps on the way too. Anyway. I'll be able to prototype on my old Sofrider. It has...

Fully suspended MBB with 90 deg steering angle.

It looks like it would be relatively trivial to set it to negative steering angle with that setup, and a little redesign too! :)

    My T50 Emeljay Mod

I think I have a stem that is the right diameter to clamp into the end of the tube if I cut the steerer-clamp off of it. That would look much nicer, I think. I bought a 1 foot section of 16 gauge 38mm OD T6 for initial testing. The very lower part of the boom on my Sofrider, before it tapers...

    My T50 Emeljay Mod

I have not found a one yet. The lower section of the boom on my Sofrider, before it tapers-down, is 34.9. I'll start by testing a 38mm ID tube over that. That'll let me know if it's worth persuing further. Pretty sure some other companies made 1.5 steerers. Hard to find though. I'm going to...

    My T50 Emeljay Mod

I'm really considering it now. I like the T50 a lot for its simplicity. I like the silver hardware you chose. Doesn't show scratches. Maybe a nice yellow frame with silver. Hmmm...... I better start saving a bit for it! Cannondale headshock stems were made for 1.5 inch (38mm) steerer.

    My T50 Emeljay Mod

The other idea that brings to mind for me is if you can use a 38mm tube as the slider. Those clamps are available for 34.9 seatposts as well...

    My T50 Emeljay Mod

Finding the clamp that works is the most significant update to this mod I have seen. Previous clamps only gripped half the slider, letting it slip. This one wraps around the whole tube, so it will hold far more securely (like the Cruzbike part). What a great coincidence on the spacing of the...
