Heres a few pictures.Im still playing around with the bars but I really like it with the bars rotated up.Did around 40 miles today with no shoulder pain at all and the bike is just as fast .

Top tube would be Too high Y frames work much better. You should buy the Cruzbike frame and kit use the Trek wheels and drive train.A little more $ but you would be getting a nice bike. Jack

How slow is your bike? I built up a steel Huffy like that and had no problem riding 17 MPH on the road or bike path. think you are loosing a lot of power with the bars so high.Get your bars away from your knees and you dont need the extension. An way used kits are going fast for 250. Jack

Yes that would work.You will also need 1 1/8in forks and a headset. Jack

It looks ok 150 is a good price.The top tube area by the seat is a little short so mounting the seat will need some extra work.You see what kind of price you could get on the Schwinn Sierra DS mens comfort. That bike is right on for a hard tail. Jack

Sounds like you got the wrong adapter.The kit takes a 1 1/8th in. for the steering mast.You need a 28mm or use a sleeve.. Jack

Just cut the tabs off.I had the same problem with the Y-26. Jack

Measure hight of top tube 8 in.from seat tube should be around 26in max.You can get away with higher but not much. Jack

It should be ok.I cant find any pictures but its an older model before the Y26.I would go for it if the frame size is right -med or small and its not to beat up. Jack

No they both have the Cannondale headshock fork which uses a 1.5in diameter head tube.The kit will only work with 1in or 1 1/8in. headtubes. Nice bikes otherwise. Jack

I would say no. The 1.5 in headset is the main problem.Stick with a 1 1/8 in fork. Jack

I did a no suspension Downtube and it was a fun bike.The full suspension bikes have a longer wheelbase so will work a little better.The Downtube was also easy to convert.If you want 20 in wheels go for it.I just like to go a little faster with the 26 in wheels. Jack

I would not do it.I use a triple and a 11- 32 and dont have a lot of gears that are not used. Just my opion. Jack

Intresting report. The front derailler cable is a long one so I cable tie it to the front fork. Dont ask how I know. Jack

Its too tight when the screws break.Just snug them up + 1/4 turn. Jack

Do you have your kit yet? It comes with instructions but yes you will need a threaded to threadledss adapter and an new stem.The adapter comes in 1 in. or 1 1/8 in depending on what size fork you have.The . Any 1/8 in stem will work. Just look under stems to find them. Jack

The crossbar angle is kind of steep but it should work. I did a 14.5 Giant sedona frame and it was ok.Measure your cross tube 8 in from seat post to find seat hight. If it is under 26in it will be ok. Jack
