    Chain coming off chainring

Happened on my Freerider. The problem was the chain was too long - not enough tension on the chain from the derailleur. That may be your problem. I work in a bike shop and install lots of chains. The best method I have found is to run the new, uncut chain over the big ring and the big cog w/o...

Maybe the V20 is a fast bike afterall

Frito, I posted this awhile back. Notice that I also put a piece of thin plywood paneling where the bag goes over the head rest to provide more side to side stability. I have a Bacchetta Brain Bag on my Vendetta. I have had the bag for 6 years, notice the faded appearance, and it has held up...

    Used S1.0 pre-purchase questions

I have a Silvio 1.0. It is a lively little bike and the suspension takes the edge off of bumps. The front shock holds air pressure very well. I keep it at 150 lbs and when I check it, every 3 months or so, it is right at 150. I have adapted a rear rack and once did an overnight camping trip with...

    Tire Recommendations

Doug, I put on the 25mm Vittoria's I mentioned on the old Silvio 1.0 and there is about 2mm clearance between the tire and the rear fork crown. I don't think 28mm tires would work on that bike.

    Tire Recommendations

I just got a set of 25mm Vittoria Randonneur Classics for my Silvio 1.0 but haven't mounted them yet. I wanted a durable, not very expensive tire for the Silvio. On my thoroughbred Vendetta I run 28mm Conti 5000 TL's and I am very pleased with them. My T50 gets along very well with Michelin...

    Newbie

I'm in the mid Willamette Valley - Corvallis more precisely. Not many Cruzbikers in this area yet tho I'm working on a few prospects :D I did a ride a few years back with a Vendetta rider named Ivan from Eugene. I have a Vendetta, an old Silvio 1.0 and a T50. Where exactly in the Oregon...

    Where to try?

Sometimes you just gotta commit and make the plunge. Spending a couple thousand on a Cruzbike can often be the commitment that is needed to convince the new owner to put in the miles to learn the skills. In actuality it is no different than learning how to first ride a bike when you were a...

    New V20 build components

I have had Zefal Spys mounted on all my Cruzbikes except for my T50. They are small & aero, work great and I love them. They do not scratch unless you try to scratch them and the image is not distorted, at least not enough to matter. The secret to mounting them is to mount them on the brifters...

Cyclist suffers stroke caused by riding position.

The Dec/Jan issue of Adventure Cycling Magazine arrived yesterday and I was reading an article titled "A Stroke of Luck" by Gary Rushkin of Raleigh, NC. The article is about how he suffered a stroke in Michigan while riding solo cross country. He was rescued by a passing state trooper and has...

When the velcro has come off my seat back I have used 1/8" aluminum pop rivets to attach it permanently.

    Rail/Trail biking on the T50

"Thanks for your post. Have you been happy with the T50 on rougher rail trails, or do you wish you had gone for the Q45 or something similar? I'm planning to ride the Eerie Canal Trail in June and wondering whether a T50 would be good for that trip and rail trail riding in general. Thanks."...

    Is this RD considered "bent"?

Your noise might be caused by improper adjustment of the b screw allowing the upper jockey pulley to come in contact with the large cog on the cassette. Turning the screw in a bit might be the solution. Check out the Sheldon Brown site for excellent info on rear derailleur adjustment...

    Tubeless tires anyone?

I recently mounted 28mm Conti 5000TL's on my Vendetta. I had to use a compressor to get the initial seating. I'm using Trucker Co sealant. These are my 3rd set of tubeless tires. They ride really good with a bit more comfort than the 25mm Pro Ones they replaced. So far at 300 miles they seem to...

    I'm getting a Vendetta!!!

Congratulations Doc. I too made the transition from a Sivio 2.0 to a Vendetta - a red one in my case. Not only is the V a sleeker, faster, lower to the ground speedster, it is also the most comfortable Cruzbike in the lineup.

Don't let a data freak into biking

Yes, when it comes to intelligence ratz is in another class entirely. I remember sitting around a table in the dining hall at the 2016 Northwest Cruzbike Retreat with Ratz, his wife Tanya, Robert Holler and a few others. Ratz sez: "I use a mnemonic to help me memorize 2,000 passwords so I don't...

    Bag solutions for Vendetta V20?

Those are stock bars. No idea what kind they are. The stock seat with a Ventist pad, the stock headrest and stock bars all work out fine for me. I did add a couple pieces of yoga mat foam to the headrest to put my head in a slightly more vertical position. That aero bag of yours looks really rad!

    Bag solutions for Vendetta V20?

I have a Bacchetta Brain Bag on my Vendetta. I have had the bag for 6 years, notice the faded appearance, and it has held up well. I previously had it on my Silvio 2.0 but when I switched it over to the V I had to modify it some to keep it from dragging on the wheel. There is a nylon strap at...

    V20 Assembly

I mounted it on the front wheel near the rim. Don't know why you would have to mount it close to the axle.

    V20 Assembly

I use the Planet Bike Protege 8.0 (wired) computer. It has all the basic functions plus a thermometer. It works great and can be switched between 2 bikes with differing wheel sizes.
