Way to go, Moose! Time for a Silvio, huh? Mark

    Mirror for Silvio

I'm not a huge fan of mirrors that mount on the bike. The always seem to be vibrating when I really need to see what's going on. I know a lot of people, myself included, favor the Take-A-Look brand of mirror. It can be mounted directly to eyeglasses, sunglasses, or even a helmet. They are...

    Best pump for 100 psi

Welcome to the forum! If you are talking about a pump to take on rides, IMHO the Topeak Road Morph totally rocks. Hands down, it's easily the best portable pump I've ever used and I would recommend it to anybody. Floor pumps are floor pumps, but I've had good luck with my Topeak Joe Blow. Mark

    Ebay: Sofrider V1

I wondered if that wasn't the one offered on the Yahoo site, but that was a Freerider. Mark

    2 Silvios in Redlands

Jack did great! I had my regular Sunday morning beginners ride that I was responsibe for. When I learned Jack was coming out, I decided if I could find an alternate leader, I would take him on a little more challenging and scenic ride. I secured the aforementioned alternate and decided I...

What tools do i need to assemble the Freerider?

    plus 45 x-seams on Silvio - yes!

John, I'm every bit of a 45 and I'm having a great time on my Silvio. What would I gain from the new widgit, a higher bottom bracket? Would that then take me out of the range of using my triple? Mark

    Possible donor bike

That would probably be fine, except no suspension. John T holds firm to the notion you need at least front suspension or you get hop skip and jump in the front end. Ok, that's not the right terminology, but what it boils down to is when you hit a bump and your front wheel comes off the ground...

Not too bad, Brian. Not bad at all. I'm just stubbornly trying to keep from putting a rack on mine. :| Mark

    Long distance touring

Treker, Welcome to the forum! Standard mountain bike wheels should be plenty beefy for touring. I think the issues they are having with the front wheels is due to machine built wheels that need to be touched up by human hands, especially after riding for awhile. That would be my humble...

    Origin 8 bars

Jack, I think you're going to love them, they work really well for me. I think I'm going to get another one for my conversion bike. Mark

    Maddening ignorance still of recumbents!

Truthfully, Harold, you just have to get over it because it's not going to change any time soon. Some people are receptive, most aren't. They just think we're odd and in some ways, they're right. No worries by me, I've given up on trying to recruit the masses to the way of the recumbent...
