    Training with Indoor Cycling

I agree that you need to train on what you are mostly going to ride on the road. At least have something that is similar in seat angle and BB height.

    2018 Mid-Atlantic 12/24

Here is my last hard ride before the Century next Saturday. Figured I better get out and ride the Vendetta outside so I can re-acclimated to having to balance it! haha It was a good shake-down ride. Unfortunately the Vendetta is more ready than I. This Century wiped me out! A metric Century...

Zwift - Cruzbike Activities (races and group rides)

Yeah - most people use some kind of cheat to get the KOM - either putting their weight super low or "other" methods. I remember looking at one segment and saw the average wkg that the KOM holder had used. I just about killed myself to match those figures, only to find myself way down the list...

Zwift - Cruzbike Activities (races and group rides)

Well I got my first Zwift KOM today! It was 8 laps "Innsburking" haha. Probably only got it because it has not been around that long to ride, plus it takes close to 2 hours at about 3.5 WkG, so not too many fools out there want to suffer that hard! haha Funny thing is, I did not know I had taken...

    2018 Mid-Atlantic 12/24

FYI: If you want to get in on some extra fun (and pre-event warm-up, so to speak) - Alvin also runs a local 20K TT race every Thursday at 6pm. He of course owns the KOM for it at 27.0 mph! https://www.strava.com/segments/7366972?filter=overall Jill Paxton owns the QOM at 21.9mph (Maria you...

    Fun with crank lengths

Through a lot of trial and error. Primarily I look at how much my knees are bent during my back-stroke and also try and make sure I do not have to point my toes on my push stroke (Keep the toes pointed up). That is when I feel I can make my best power, spin fast, and no knee pain.

    Road bike vs. recumbent comparison

The reports of my "often-ness" of crashing are are probably wildly exaggerated! haha But, I will have to say, that probably 1/2 of my "sliding/crashes" were due to front flats at high speeds probably in a slight turn and usually going all out or close to it. April 2015: 1 week before Calvin's...

    Road bike vs. recumbent comparison

My 2 cents: I concur that it just "seems" easier to make power on a DF. I was also surprised at how easily 200-300 watts would show up on a DF - virtualy with almost no effort at all - and even 700-800 for sustained periods when charging up a steep hill , but the perceived effort on my Vendetta...

    2019 S40 coming soon!

Yeah, but then they would have to change the name to S33 - Hmm - not likely.

I just hope I can keep the darn thing up-right!

Is Larry going to the DARK side ????

So many people have asked so many questions about how bents and Cruzbikes is general compare to the best uprights, I wanted to do some specialized testing around that. So, no I am not defecting to the dark side - I guess I am just board late in the summer - but I just have to know the numbers...

    Larry’s memorial ride.

No wonder you are feeling better Ken! I just don't know how you could have had that key fob and key under your scab for all that time and not feel it! You must be tough.

Great write up Ken, and welcome to the Larry Crash/Sliding Club. So glad you are OK. Maybe next year we can do it together! :)

Diet: Low Carb and Ultra Cycling

I started back on full Keto diet 7 days ago as I crept back into some bad eating habits over the summer and also gained some weight. I am training very hard for a 1 HR TT in a couple of months, so most of my training sessions now are ridden at FTP for nearly an hour about every other day. I...

CRUZBIKE A67 WHEEL SET TUBLESS CONVERSION

I concur - not a good idea to convert non-tubeless wheels to tubeless. It is just not worth the risk. True tubeless wheel sets are coming down in price too, so easier to purchase. p.s If you are not doing it to pick up speed increase, you can have a similar level of protection by putting sealant...

Who said that you cannot 'stand on pedals' on a recumbent?

This guy it pretty cool, but he confirms (at least in my little brain) - that I will continue to wear a helmet!
