What did you do to your Cruzbike today?

I told Plod. It happened too quickly for me to get a description or see the number plate.

What did you do to your Cruzbike today?

Someone on a motorbike drew alongside, got really close. He started to accelerate and grabbed my bars. As he sped off I fell off. He was gone. Very lucky I was that there was no vehicle close behind. I banged my elbow and got a graze. That is the elbow I broke a few years ago. Bike was...

I like doing it sideways. I find it really difficult to get it to stand up upside-down. Sorry to lower the tone.

Your Max Speed on a Cruzbike

38 mph. Big hill. I was on my daily commute, overtaking the cars. Teeny bit faster than the Grasshopper but more scary. I changed my place of work soon after that. I think I should try that hill again, now I am more used to the Silvio and I have modified it.

    Recumbent Newbie

It did not take me long to learn to loosen my hold on the bars, and now I can do no-hands for a short distance, but sometimes the Death Grip is still effective. When I reached the top of the incredibly long steep hill, I realised that my hands were aching, because I was bar-pulling. This is...

    Core temperature

I HATE flats. Really hard to get my Grasshopper's back wheel on, because the Rohloff axle-plate always twiddles round the wrong way while I am trying to get the chain-tensioner round the right way. The only reason I have not chucked both bikes off a mountain is that I have never been up a...

    Spot the cruzbike

The tiniest bump would catch the underside. How do you fix a flat? How do you lock it? Fairing is nice in the rain, and is a crumple zone for Joe.

    Spot the cruzbike

The Cruzbike is ridden by J. Perez.

What did you do to your Cruzbike today?

Blimey! You must need a lot of road for that speed. And a smooth road. And good brakes. You don't want to do what Joe did at that speed.

What did you do to your Cruzbike today?

Kudos to Jason, and to Mr and Mrs Perez. My parents rode across Victoria Falls. My mother fell off her bike. Yes, you are blessed. What does Minh put in the cookies? Lining up the valve with the 'R' of Panaracer? What about the 'N' of Continental?

    I'll just hop that curb!

The evidence was destroyed. Nice to know the Joseph was not.

    I'll just hop that curb!

Terrifying! What was your speed? Is your wheel destroyed? Did you land badly? I don't think this sort of thing is covered in the famous ratz instructions. Nor is wombat-hopping.

What did you do to your Cruzbike today?

The Nut is the person riding the bike. On my Mavic wheels there is a logo on the rim, opposite the valve hole. Easy to find the valve.

    Slow Ride

Over the years I have seen a few 'bents, but never another CB. I think there are some in the UK, but they are all a long way away from me.

    Visibility Flags

There is a thread about riding in groups of DF riders, and the etiquette of drafting when you are more aero than anybody else. You could make a rigid flag, like the spoiler of a car. Motorists would have to go round it and DF riders would be happy to draft behind it. If it was wide enough you...

What did you do to your Cruzbike today?

My Vittoria Open Pave have great long strips of writing on them. To which part of the strip must I align the valve? You've got me started now.

What did you do to your Cruzbike today?

Meta-OCD: Using a razor blade to scrape off the logo, so you cannot worry about lining up the valve and the logo.

Why are road bumps so much more obtrusive on a recumbent?

That camera is in the perfect position to catch any stuff flying up from the wheel. Nothing is flying up, but there is no mudguard. Snow must be rock hard. Must be blindingly cold.

Why are road bumps so much more obtrusive on a recumbent?

I wish there was a video of that. I wish there was a video taken from the rabbit's perspective. If I have time to react I lean forward. This allows the bike to tilt up and down as it goes over the bump.

    removing the Kind air shock

When I first started riding this bike it was so bumpy my eyeballs nearly fell out. It was because the shock was rock hard.
