GPS unit or iPhone with an app such as Map my Ride

Thanks for that info and the Bluetooth catch. I'll check out the 505. I am only cycling in the US so I have no issues at the moment with only that map. You make some excellent points with explaining the differences.

Zwift - Cruzbike Activities (races and group rides)

I enjoy reading your posts. I do not have a setup for zwift riding. I am living vicariously through Team Moose.

GPS unit or iPhone with an app such as Map my Ride

I am contemplating purchasing a GPS unit and have been looking at the Magellan 315 which you can get from Amazon for about 100$. I am a basic touring cyclist. I go out and ride and do not want to get lost. Places that I ride in Ky, at times, there is no cell phone service. I only use basic...

What did you do to your Cruzbike today?

Glad you are basically ok and hope you heal quickly. I was telling my sister earlier tonight that a fall from a bent is easier than going over the handlebar.

What did you do to your Cruzbike today?

I participated in a local ride (26 Mar) Pedal and Play in Paradise, Punta Gorda, Fl. The weather was fantastic. The local bike mechanic said he has just built a S30 for someone. He also said he had never seen so many pieces and parts. The ride also had 2 Encores and 3 velomobiles and 2 trikes...

Chain WAXing (yes it's that easy) - and other mysteries of this art!

Has anyone tried this stuff? You don't have to remove the chain to clean and rewax. You re wax the chain with a stick wax. It looks like a deodorant stick. The video is pretty simple. Seems easier that melting wax in a crockpot...

Suggestions for a new bike carrier

For those that use the Sportwing carrier. I contacted Reese about replacement rubber straps. Mine had broken and I'd been using just some Velcro straps. I received the below info: The Sportwing bike carrier is sold through our sister company Cequent Consumer Products. I will leave their...

What did you do to your Cruzbike today?

I changed my front tire after reviewing the video done by Trplay. Excellent video. It is the second time changing my front tire and was easier this time. The valve stem was leaking. Luckily, the flats have happened where I can change the tire in my garage. The more miles I ride the more flats I...

What did you do to your Cruzbike today?

I cut the boom using a pipe cutter a plumber friend of mine owned. I read somewhere on the forum the boom/slider is sized for 6'2. It is easier to cut the boom for shorter folks than it is to supply another boom for taller.

What did you do to your Cruzbike today?

I finally cut my boom. I've been riding my S30 with the boom about 15 cm longer than recommended by Cruzbike guidance. I cut 6 inches off. The bike also got new grip tape. The grip tape always gives me fits since I don't wrap many handlebars. I did watch the video by Ratz. Loved the music. I...

    Legs too short to flintstone

    Yes, I haven't done it yet. I am leaning towards a 1 x 10 or 11. I've been riding my S30.

    Legs too short to flintstone

My sister is about 5'2". She has tried my Q559 but isn't comfortable riding for long since she can't flintstone. Both of her feet do not touch the ground at the same time. I thought maybe someone might have an idea or two. She has ridden around the block but hasn't leaned back in the seat. I...

    New Cruzbike Accessories

Thanks, I did not realize the spacing between the clamps was adjustable. I'll give it another go.

    New Cruzbike Accessories

You receive 1 complete clamp not 2. My guess is the pair refers to the two points of compression for the clamp i.e. two screws. I am actually only using one of the screws. The other did not line up with the screw hole. Doesn't seem to be an issue. It is only slightly off.

    2017 Race and Event Season

I've done this ride for several years. Bent friendly. There will be at least, my S30, an Encore, and a CA2 riding. http://www.redbudride.com/ April 20-23 The Redbud Ride is an annual bicycle ride that starts in beautiful downtown London, KY and stretches throughout the surrounding areas. The...

I think you will be happy, happy, happy. Use the learning to ride tips. I started on a Sofrider and now have a S30 which I love. Welcome to the Tribe.

    Maybe a new Cruz convert

Thanks for the reply but it really never hurts when I ride. It hurts afterwards for several hours. I suppose I am just focused on the ride and fun. I think I'll build up slowly with rest, meds, and therapy between rides. The Doc said I couldn't do more damage so I'll tolerate the after ride...
