Week #5 Cruzbike 3000 Mile Challenge Results:
..
Hello everyone - Here are the week #5 results!
Again - so sorry for the delay in getting these out. I had planned Cardiac cathe procedure on June 8 (Tues) to explore my other blockage: and the surgeon found significant blockages and flow reduction (>90%) in my LAD (left Anterior Descending) Artery. He had to install 3 separate stents (so now I have 4 of them total) and I have been out of commission for a couple of days, especially including moving my right wrist and hand since they punctured the ulnar artery in my right wrist for the cathe insertion. Good news though - He said I should be able to continue as much and as hard of riding as I was previously doing before all this started happening back in Dec. He even said I should notice better blood and oxygen flow overall, so I should feel stronger, ride faster, go farther. Hope so - I have been feeling pretty weakly this last 6-7 months! haha :rolleyes:

Anyway here are the results:
A great week #5
39 of you rode over 100 miles
11 more rode over 50 miles
30 of us (out of 64) are above the pace required to get to 3000 by the end of the challenges

I just read this, Larry. I hope you recover fully. You will be faster than ever!! The rest of us probably won't be able to hold your wheel on Zwift once you are back in action.

Something is off. I wish I had ridden 437 miles in week 5, but I know I did not. My 94 miles for week 5 appear to be credited to Rob Alford (just above me in the list).

My guess is Robert Volk (just below me in the list) rode those 437 miles that are credited to me. Seems like more his weekly pace than mine...

This weekend I enjoyed the Amish Country Century. I had fun playing leapfrog with the lead group for the first twenty miles, averaging 19 mph in the hills. Then the rain came and the threat of thunderstorms made me choose to cut the ride to a metric century. https://www.strava.com/activities/5497674602
Side note: Can you guess what the substance on my bike is?

For Sunday, I did a ride in the flat lands of western Ohio, riding with WOBA for their first day of their week-long annual event. It was a blast passing many riders. I’m sure I planted seeds of thought in some. There’s nothing like a more comfortable and efficient bike when the wind is blowing.

Thanks Rob - I have to move people's mileages around based on who rode that week. It is kind of a pain - I have corrected the week #5 numbers and have updated the spreadsheet and the week #5 & week #6 screenshoots. Thanks for the extra pair of eyes.

No problem. At first, I thought the 400+ miles must be my total from week 5, but then I saw my total listed at 700+. I wish. I've just been too busy to put that many miles in this year. That, and the roads are crowded again!

Ouch. I was hoping my 148 mile ride across Massachusetts would be a weekly highlight but Andrea made it seem puny.
