Sounds fun. Sorry I missed out. Too busy competing with my other toy.
You can join anytime. If you joined this week, I can go back and count your last weeks miles. That would give you 14 weeks to accumulate 3000 miles. Not impossible.

Thanks, Larry.

I think Rob Alford got my miles last week (70). Not that it matters much (I'm so far down in the ranking)...

That is probably why my legs hurt when I get up from the bed!
Beds have legs so you don’t have to pedal when in bed. But you can if you like - it’s a free country. Then again if you live in the land of Gayle it is probably healthful to abide by the law of the land. (Thank you Gayle for sending Larry to be an ambassador to Cruzbikeria and Ultra-Cycleria so frequently. ).

Hope / Assumption #1: Gayle is Mrs. LarryOz’ name.
Hope / Assumption #2: If #1 is incorrect that I have a tough immune system and showered since my last ride because both ugly feet are filling my craw.

After my 64 mile ride today, the Garmin told me I was "overreaching", and that my next ride should be in 61 hours.
Strava also says I should "be cautious of overtraining". I'm at 675 miles so far for August, double my mileage from previous years, but feel OK.
When I see how much y'all are riding I feel like a slacker. I'm training for the upcoming BRAT.

Off topic, I knew my handlebars were crooked but seeing this photo of me made me fix it ASAP.

Matthew, as you know, our bodies are capable of tremendous things, much more than we imagine they ever could, with the right training, recovery and nutrition. I was very active as a child, not so much as a teenager, but hit my stride in USMC Basic Training and then Infantry Training School. During those 2 and during the following 3 and a half years I couldn't get enough exercise. We can handle that when we are young, and those and later routines helped get me to where I am at now. As we get older though we have to realize that over training is a thing. If your body can handle it without causing any injuries and you don't burn out mentally then I say keep going. Nuttin' wrong with zipping along :D

OohRah! Got a few Jarheads here on CB Vendettas. Same here though. It didn't put me out of action because I solved it quickly, but 1 pair of shoes caused a bit of pain behind my left knee and the soles of both of my feet. I found the cleat was a bit off from my good shoes, and that Fiziks are apparently more narrow than Specialized shoes. I think it is okay now though.
