SOLD: Most of S30 with front suspension for sale

    A) In what sense is it incomplete? B) How much do you want for it? I saw the craigslist post with photo and I don't see anything missing. -Dan

    UV protection

I use Pearl Izumi arm sleeves in Arizona, and the cooling works very well dry. It never occurred to me to wet them, but if they NEEDED to be wet it would be a fail here anyway, since they would be dry again within ten minutes of leaving the house. -Dan

    Homebuilder selling up

Looks as if a smaller front wheel would have improved the range of design decisions about steering geometry. This looks like the bike you built to learn, "Oh, THAT's why it's done the other way." If you go with a smaller front, you might do some good with a redesign of the front triangle and...

    EXPIRED - Vendetta 1.0 - $2200 - Scottsdale, AZ

It appears to be centered on the wheel. My guess is headlight mount with velcro. What I'm curious about is the tumorous growth on the headrest. -Dan

How far can you throw your Cruzbike?

I applaud your excellent taste. My last motorcycle was a Norton. When it went away, I quit riding motorcycles. -Dan

    Tanglefoot Trail

I rode my Silvio on the northern half (New Albany to Pontatoc and back) in May of last year, and found the northern half of THAT northern half to be the more scenic. The north Mississippi hill country is completely lovely, and nearby Oxford is one of my favorite cities. Thanks for the...

    The Hills of Cincinnati

Abbott- I have four words for you: Giro Air Attack Shield Every time I see you with that air brake on top of your head I cringe. Congrats on getting back on the bike after the move. -Dan

Trying to deal with Recumbutt on Silvio 1.5

Confirmed. When I took the extension off my 1.0 Silvio, I had to move the derailleur position down one step but didn't have to change the boom length at all, so the cable was within normal adjustability. -Dan

Trying to deal with Recumbutt on Silvio 1.5

My stem spacers are similar, and I have thought about rearranging them to lower my hands, but won't that require cutting off some fork tube? -Dan

Trying to deal with Recumbutt on Silvio 1.5

I got sixteen miles in yesterday with the extension removed. So far, so good. I suspect I will continue to like it, but I want to give it a little more time before I decide. It would be silly to sell an extension only to buy another one a month later. If I do decide to give it up, I'm pretty...

Trying to deal with Recumbutt on Silvio 1.5

Hal, I started from scratch on chain length. I found the chain you added, and I removed that and one link pair more. Then I replaced the chain at the new length. (One standard length chain fits again. Yay!) The shifting issues I am having are more about getting the "front" derailleur lined up...

Trying to deal with Recumbutt on Silvio 1.5

I rode with that extension for a year and a half, but then I decided my hip angle was too closed. I started by building up the seat base to raise my butt up and toward the pedals to simulate additional recline until I realized it might be simpler to lower the bottom bracket instead. The...

How to be treated like a human being by truck drivers

The previous owner of my trike had stars and stripes flying. I'm not a flag guy, but I thought, "That can't hurt," so it's still there. -Dan

silvio 1.0 derailleur hanger poor fit issue

Campy ten-speed on my 1.0 Silvio. No spacer to be seen and like 1.5 to 2 mm clear between the chain (on smallest cog) and both the frame and hanger. I haven't actually ridden on the new hanger yet - waiting for new chain - so I'll keep an eye on this area after I turn the bike right side up. -Dan

silvio 1.0 derailleur hanger poor fit issue

The newer style hanger will reduce the clearance problem at the fork lug (see my comparison photo), but I think super slim is on to something with his chainstay angle observation. If I were putting this bike together, I would consider opening up the chainstay angle until the hanger fits like it...

silvio 1.0 derailleur hanger poor fit issue

Ed- I think you will like the new part, which has a relief in the area where you are seeing interference with the fork dropout. See my pic elsewhere in this thread. -Dan

silvio 1.0 derailleur hanger poor fit issue

MOAR PHOTOS https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/108088721/file%20jul%2013%2C%2010%2040%2014%20am.jpeg Showing the current service part next to my old (and possibly original) bent hanger. Two differences pop out: the old part has been machined narrower in the derailleur attachment area and the...
