    Sun (EZ) Tomahawk frameset

I have a friend that is a custom bike fabricator. He recently built a ti and carbon Easy Racer kind of clone for a customer. He bought a Tomahawk and cannabalized it for all the usable parts; wheels, seat, riser, components, etc. I was asked last night if I wanted to buy what was left. I have no...

    Play in front fork

I'm not detecting any loss of power in the front end. The bike has tremendous acceleration. Certainly better than the RWD recumbents I've owned. Mark

Re: bent seat post bought or made I went to my LBS but they said that bent seat posts are old skool. I never tried online because, well, I have a torch. Mark

    Metric system?

Success! Bike looks pretty good! As you get used to it, I believe you will want to recline the seat back more. I like it! Mark

    road bike?????

I don't know... They're pretty heavy duty and conduit benders are intended for thinwall tubing. Even red hot, I had to use a cheater and really torque on it. Mark

I used a steel seat post and heated it cherry red, then bent it. I quick cooled it afterwards and have had no troubles. Mark

    Reid's new Silvio

Re: new Silvio I've developed a squeak of late, but I think it's where the clamp that goes around the bottom bracket. When I have time, I'm going to pull it apart and apply a little grease. I greased the TFT and everything else, but neglected that part and I think that's where it's coming...

    Commute to work

Even the guard dogs are getting used to me. There are a couple businesses I pass on my commute to work that have dogs in their yards over night. They usually run out to the fence, raise their hackles and inform me of what they would do for me if that fence weren't there. Now, if they pay any...

    Reid's new Silvio

Re: new Silvio I'm probably 70/30. I've found I can upshift the Campy thumb shift lever easily by wrapping my finger underneath and pulling it down. I do have to move my hand slightly for downshifts. It's a nice, comfortable hand position, particularly with the Origin 8 bars. Mark

    Reid's new Silvio

Re: new Silvio Reid, The new bike looks great! Congratulations!!! Glad you like the homebrew computer mount... I think it works great. I'd lose the extra brake levers. I don't think you'll use them. Of course, YMMV, but I know I never put my hands up there. I use the drops and the...

WTB Mountain Road Bars on Silvio!!

You'll probably save money if you shop around for a donor bike. Plus, you can sell the frame and parts you don't need and make some of it back. Mark

    Play in front fork

It's the fork flexing. I've noticed the same thing and I think part of It might be because of the shock. I'm not too concerned with it. Mark

    Commute to work

Yes, on the conversion. I always enjoy cycling, but I like to ride hard and usually beat myself up pretty badly. When I complete a ride and don't feel all beat up, I know I'm getting fitter and that's what keeps me getting back on the bike for another go at it. Great fun. Mark

Front, dual or no suspension donor bike?

Victor, That looks like it could make an awesome conversion. It looks like the seat height might be borderline high... It could be the angle of the picture. If you were going to have any suspension, front would probably be better. With that longer wheelbase, though, you might get away...
