New Guy - lots of questions

Probably best you go for a medium chainstay for the hills and for manuovering. I have a long chainstay that's not doing much but that's great for going on the flats.

New Guy - lots of questions

General rule... stick to figure eights and go slow and work on your balance. I would almost say its impossible for you to fall over your bars on a bent. Many of us have disc brakes on the front and we use them well. There was one member here who goes down his local mountain so fast that his bike...

Blue Streak TT - MJ sets fastest ever recumbent time last night on his V20

I wish there wasn't such a sigma attached to Bents, you just don't see many younger riders on them. Probably due to UCI marketing and promo rules. Anyways... that was a major achievement for mj and the team.

My Very First Recumbent is a V20

Can't you lower your cda by riding one handed? LOL (it kind of takes the matter out of your hands)

Monokote on a high vented helmet anyone?... you can pay some high prices indeed for a helmet

    Pedaling efficiency and foot position

I think it might be more important what the foot is doing at 3 o'clock. Is it fully extended or else? Probably depends on the size of the crank

    Tubes or tubeless

Unfortunately I guess, I check my tires before I go out for the correct pressure. The sealant had dried out. One of the issues with the hot climate.

    v20 Seat padding

Hot as hell, sums it up. Yes I have a yoga mat, it's kinder to my back and clothes and gives me some great speed. I have had thoughts of scooping out a channel in the middle but think it would look like a hatchet job so have just left it as is. The ventisit pad is unbeatable in the summer as I...

Recumbent "Off-saddle" aka Bridging Plank: More power to ya!

I tried sprinting today by lifting my bum up and realised my pedals are too close to me LOL

Recumbent "Off-saddle" aka Bridging Plank: More power to ya!

I usually do it to avoid bumps giving me the judder or I need to hop over a huge pothole

    Full face helmet ideas needed

It leaves everyone speechless but works well unless it's too cold and then it fogs up. I've been told that shaving foam works well to keep the condensation away. Aliexpress special... not sure about the plastic if you were in a smash not sure how it reacts but it keeps all the insects off me in...

New(to me) S40, first mbb, first ride in 18 months. What could possibly go wrong?

Wait until you go over a bridge... Holly crap... its an adrenalin pump

Cheap disc wheels $45 very very light.

I bought an aluminium rim and a 350 dt suisse hub (which is supposed to be for mountain biking) but if I am going to cover it with monokote then no one knows. I decided to try a tubular tyre that I can pump up to 170psi... not sure how the rim will stand at that pressure but i should get a...

To V20c as a lifelong DF roadie

I cannot possible conceive of doing 70kph at 120 rpm. LOL. I don't even last for long doing 44kph at 120. But I am in the throws of upgrading the engine.

    Little tweaks

So there were complications with the wheel change... I moved over to an xdr cassette with a 12 speed sram force cassette with the lowest sprocket being a 10t. However the chain would snag between the fork and cassette and jam tight. So my friend has a workshop. We got a 1mm piece of alluminium...

    Little tweaks

In the last few months I have been caught up with cassette compatibility issues. The local bike shop , good as they are, can't quite build up wheels as well as the manufacturer. I bought a cheap 12 speed ryet cassette which sort of worked with the xshifter and flat top sram force chain ...

    New V20c

Oh wow... I see the front brake cable has been rather well hidden. Is the front fork hollow or does it just run down the hidden side of the fork? Looks incredibly beautiful!

To V20c as a lifelong DF roadie

Whenever I deck a vendetta the boom takes a shock as does the handlebar. If the repair isn't toughened enough , it won't be the handlebars that take the knock but yer leg. Why not wear some kevlar shorts if you like going fast?
