Results of installing a Viscoset headset in an S40

Yes press fit. I just remove with a brass pipe/blunt instrument but inserting a headset press is best to not damage the head tube or cups.

The stock lower cup only has 2mm of "cup" that sits outside the frame - basically just a flange - this headset was/is to keep the front end as low as possible. The lower Hellbender Viscoset looks to have a cup that sits 7.5mm of cup outside the head tube - the bearing sits inside but the actual...

I am not 100% sure on the status of the newer Viscosets from Cane Creek - or which ones are available non-OEM to the consumer market as for a time they were only supplying to OEM. There is the "Hellbender 70" version that could technically work in the lower V20c bearing race, but I have not...

    Free hub

I am not 100% sure what model free hub the Chosen wheels are compatible with, or if those parts are even available from Chosen. Are they saying you need a new wheel entirely or they can replace to a different hub?

    Electric conversion kit / Q45

We have one of these (FRONT hub motor) to go on the rear of a through axle Q45 at some point at the warehouse as a test case. I am expecting no issues - other than finding a good way to mount a 20Ah battery and possibly wiring lengths. I am pretty sure this has been done on the through axle Q's...

    A very nice S40 review...

This - in my biased opinion - deserves a lot of views and likes. :-)

My experiences with the switch from the M5 CHR to the Cruzbike V20c

To make it easy for you all: A quick note on the M5: I've been riding the bike for 2.5 years, but haven't been able to overcome some difficulties. For example: - Slow cornering/turning on the road: There's a risk of the heel of your shoe getting caught between the front wheel and the frame...

RAGBRAI 2025 - The Most EPIC Cruzbike Ride Yet

Hey all, thought I would share a few thoughts after recovering from the 2025 RAGBRAI event. It was one for the ages for sure and a real great time. We had a good 27 Cruzbikers at least as there were many that were part of the regular ride that I saw on the road and various Cruzbikes parked in...

Question on geometry and balance on the v20

Thats probably great on your sternum when you hit a pothole. LOL. This thing rears its head every now and then for some reason I cannot understand.

    Convert Q45 to ebike

Grin now looks to have a 12x100mm through axle front hub - that TECHNICALLY could work on the back of a Q45 - though I cannot say for sure, as I have only looked at it briefly, but it looks to be the only actual through axle front hub motor I have seen so far. I am not exactly sure how the...

    Cassette

Personally would forego the chain whip - I tossed all of my old chain whips for cassettes in the trash after getting one of these. Much more soapy: https://a.co/d/grNIAK5

    Ventisit 2cm or 3cm?

I am pretty sure all of our Dentists are the 3cm ones. I am not sure that Bart at Dentist has done a 2cm one for us, actually. maybe a long time ago...

    rear rack wobble

The movement of a load can be exacerbated by the amount of movement of the rear suspension up and down in general. Have you tried to pre-load the stock spring collar a good 6-7 turns to stiffen that up - that can help. Also when carrying that much weight you might need to up the shock to...

    Convert Q45 to ebike

A front through axle motor hub is the holy grail but sadly there are basically none. Literally. There are no manufacturers really making them. At the Taipei Cycle Show this last spring we saw ONE manufacturer that had designed a VERY COOL front hub that rose insanely smooth and was all...

Swap to 26" MTB Wheels on Q45?

The hubs would have to match - if they are 12mm through axle and the same width - 100 rear and 142 front.

    New Cruzbike rider issues

This is exactly how I have adjusted my own dentist pads on various bikes to customize the fit and support where needed like at the lip or for lumbar, etc.

    Tubes or tubeless

If you practice taking the wheel off and putting it back on about 20 times in the comfort of your own home I near guarantee you will get the hang of it and that it will never be an issue.

    Airtag Mount for S40

They have sticky pads that are designed to go on the inside of suitcases: https://a.co/d/0UTCgGu Put one of those on the back of the seat (nice smooth surface to stick to) so the tag is fitting inside one of the frame holes.

    QX100 derailleur hanger: which type?

The QX100 has a standard type of DR hanger. We have those in stock, but also it is a hanger that many shops can access even though they may not have one on hand. There are a zillion "stock hangers" out there. The QX100 uses basically a Wheels Manufacturing "Hanger 25" like this one...
