    does arm cardio training help?

Hi My local gym has a vertical machine that looks like it trains the arms like cross country skiing. I wonder if it would help my cruzbiking and make me faster if I start training on it? JonB

advice needed--which clipless pedal to use

brider wrote: Hello Folks, I brider wrote: Hello Folks, I tried Crank Bros. Candy pedals on my Cruzbike and I found that they were hard enough to clip in and out of that it caused the front wheel to jerk, and down I went--more than once. Is there a better choice? Would SPDs with the spring...

    Technical downhill singletrack!

Thanks for your report. I have been thinking about converting my Freerider to off-road now that I got a Mango velomobile for commuting and road cycling. Which tires do you use? how wide are they?

    New tires on 559?

Did you run it with the wrong pressure? I like Schwalbe marathon plus, no flats.

How do you load up your Quest?

I suggest looking at what others and I did on Cruzbike Freerider.

Will it fit an old fat guy

I think it will fit you. I am 5' 11" and 245 lbs, and I fit my Cruzbike Freerider nicely. I do 2 and 3 hour rides regularly.

    451 Wheelset Wanted

I think you might have better luck on eBay or Craigslist.

    Problems shifting

Get an internal gear hub and you will not have problems like this. Remember that there is a reason for the name DERAIL - leur. You could try a different LBS.

    Suitcasing a Quest 451

This video would have been worth a lot more for viewers if you had taken the time to actually disassemble a fully functional bike, put it into the suitcase, close it, open it, and assemble the bike again ready to ride all while ticking the clock. do NOT expect airlines to handle your precious...

    cassette onto a hub gearing?

i have never heard about combining a 7 speed cassette with a 8 speed hub, unless a middrive was used. Using a middrive on a cruzbike is impossible. You can get a DualDrive from SRAM that combines a 3 speed hub with up to a 9 speed cassette. You could take any kind of rear gear, hub, pure...

Learning to ride my new Sofrider

Keep trying and you will soon master it, i was skeptic as well, but now i LOVE it, and i can even ride on only 1 wheel, the front wheel when i apply my diskbrake too hard. Someone came up with these suggestions: relax, relax, relax, dont tight up sit upright on it, like on a chair. Then just...

What size for disc brake ?

I have a 203 mm disk rotor on my Rohloff. I used a rear brake caliper even if it is the front wheel. This brake brakes so well that i already tipped over and hurt myself once, + driven on only the front wheel twice. Be GENTLE on the brake lever.

Rear disc adaptater for disc brake ?

Probably a machinist. But why would you want a diskbrake on the rear wheel of a sofrider? I can block my freeriders rear wheel using the standard rim brakes that it came with.

    IGH on a Silvio?

I do not think it will go well to force it apart.

    Seat angle

I have a freerider with a disk brake in front. It is VERY efficient, do not squeeze too hard, or you will fly over. As for the rear wheel brake, it doesnt do much, and it is very easy to block the wheel and skid.

    front disc brakes - possible?

If your fork is made of iron, then you might be able to weld it on.

Mayor's ride...Cruzbike Conversion gets lots of attention...

Hehe  i suggest actively training on hills. I have a 2 local routes which will take me up and down hills. One is actually just a "circle" around a park, so it is rather boring :-(

What does an electric assisted cruzbike look like?

I am pretty sure that BionX, a hub motor :o 8-) will fit into 250 watt limitations. If you have a conversion or version1 with a normal width rear axle, then i am sure you could put something there to drive the rear wheel. I remember something about a hidden electric assist that applied it's...
