Are you a pusher or puller?

Damn, Robert, with accolades like that for the new Vendettta from you, one of the most knowledgeable of the Cruzbike Tribe, I may have to make a visit to Rose City Cycles as soon as you have the new V in stock.

Are you a pusher or puller?

When I'm doing hard sprints on my Vendetta I'm pulling on the bars and pushing hard with my feet. When pushing with my right leg I'm also pulling with my right arm to counter balance and add power. I call this sprinting maneuver Yanking and Cranking.

    Bag solutions for Vendetta V20?

Joe, it's so good to see you back on the forums. I have missed your tales of the fast group rides and how you would outrun the field of riders trying in vain to beat you to the next stop sign. Oh yeah, and the snobbish attitude of some of the road warriors and how the leader tried to disinvite...

T50 on YouTube: Spring Equinox 200K

I grew up on a farm near Stockton in Hunterdon County, NJ so it was nice to see you rolling through the other side of the Garden State. Can't say I miss living in the most densely populated state but it had it's charms. We don't have any Wawa's in Oregon :( You really showed the long distance...

    Looking to purchase

Since the OP wanted a bike for century ride I might add that of my 3 Cruzbikes the Vendetta is the most comfortable for longer rides. The seat and head rest provide support for the entire upper body. Once you get the hang of it you will marvel at how amazingly wonderful it feels to be blazing...

    Looking to purchase

My 2 cents on this topic is to purchase a new Cruzbike without a preliminary trial ride. The $ you have invested will be the impetus you need to surmount the learning curve. A short trial ride, unless supervised by a really experienced instructor, might only lead one to believe a Cruzbike...

    Headrest options

The stock headrest works fine for me but I did modify it some by adding a couple pieces of yoga mat foam under the fabric cover to tilt my noggin a bit more vertical. I use progressive lenses instead of bifocals from the Zenni online outlet where I purchase my glasses and it sounds like this...

Seeking 4" Silvio 1.0 chainstay extension

Hi Abram, remember me from the Cruzbike NW rally? We rode to Portland and back. I purchased a 100mm chainstay extender for my Silvio 1.0 from Robert about 3 years ago. I don't know if he has any more. It sure made my pilot compartment a lot more comfortable.

The latest issue of Bicycling magazine compares 6 sealants with 2 different size punctures.

    Bag solutions for Vendetta V20?

Yesterday I mounted a new version of the Bacchetta Brain Bag on my Vendetta. The newer one has more upsweep so no more worries about the bag dragging on the tire. It looks a lot spiffier than my faded 7 year old brain bag. This newer version has 2 pockets for mounting rather than the single...

Softrider/Freerider/V2k/T50/T50e Pictorial History - Request pics and info from the tribe

Freeridin' with my doggie. I liked the handlebars but not so much the heavy dual suspension. I donated this one to our local bike collective and purchased a T50 frame.

    Still looking at the T50

I know what you mean about wanting to keep with the MBB bikes so you don't lose your Cruzbike riding chops. I have 3 CB's, a T50, an old Silvio 1.0 and a V20 and I ride nothing else unless it's a diamond frame bike I'm testing out at the community bike shop. I use the T50 as my towner bike for...

    New, nervous and CANT WAIT!

Hi Tami, I would recommend you ride the bike for a few months before thinking about changing out the seat. It takes awhile to acclimate to the 22 deg, laid back seat position but it is that way for a reason: SPEED! The Thor seat will place you more into the wind and slick aerodynamics is the...

    Bags on S40

I have used a set of Angletech aero panniers I found on the Bent Rider online classifieds. They don't hold a huge amount but they don't create as much drag either.

    New Cruzbike Owner

We sure are getting a load of Cruzbikers in FL! I wish I could find another Cruzer here in the Willamette Valley to ride with. I'm just a bit faster than my upright riding brothers & sisters and I do like to Cruz at a high speed. I tried converting a good road biking buddy but he couldn't...

    Chain coming off chainring

Happened on my Freerider. The problem was the chain was too long - not enough tension on the chain from the derailleur. That may be your problem. I work in a bike shop and install lots of chains. The best method I have found is to run the new, uncut chain over the big ring and the big cog w/o...

Maybe the V20 is a fast bike afterall

Frito, I posted this awhile back. Notice that I also put a piece of thin plywood paneling where the bag goes over the head rest to provide more side to side stability. I have a Bacchetta Brain Bag on my Vendetta. I have had the bag for 6 years, notice the faded appearance, and it has held up...

    Used S1.0 pre-purchase questions

I have a Silvio 1.0. It is a lively little bike and the suspension takes the edge off of bumps. The front shock holds air pressure very well. I keep it at 150 lbs and when I check it, every 3 months or so, it is right at 150. I have adapted a rear rack and once did an overnight camping trip with...

    Tire Recommendations

Doug, I put on the 25mm Vittoria's I mentioned on the old Silvio 1.0 and there is about 2mm clearance between the tire and the rear fork crown. I don't think 28mm tires would work on that bike.

    Tire Recommendations

I just got a set of 25mm Vittoria Randonneur Classics for my Silvio 1.0 but haven't mounted them yet. I wanted a durable, not very expensive tire for the Silvio. On my thoroughbred Vendetta I run 28mm Conti 5000 TL's and I am very pleased with them. My T50 gets along very well with Michelin...
