    Bottom Bracket Suggestions?

Okay, I'm a little late to this discussion. Are you sure the noise was coming from the bottom bracket? In the Silvio 1.0/1.5 bikes, we got complaints about a ticking noise that was synchronous with the pedaling cadence. It eventually turned out that it was from the fasteners that connected the...

T50 - The Parts Piddle Thread

So I have an old NovoSport seat I bought used a long time ago. I think it will mount to the T50 seat maounts with the addition of a few adapter blocks to resolve the differences in curvature between the seat and the T50 seat mount and clearance for the seat stay fasteners. I really like...

T50 - The Parts Piddle Thread

Wow. Okay, I didn't expect the response I got to this thread. I was just intending to post some bizarre applications of parts I think will fit the T50. But folks have questions. That's great in my view. A few observations from older bikes: When the original Sofrider was released, it didn't...

    T50 seat advice needed

Maybe, but lots of folks have the predicament. The old Sofrider cushions were dual-density foam. The top part was soft and ventilated well. The underlying foam was stiffer and damped the higher frequency oscillations/bumps very well. I have looked at the current T50 seat cushion, and it is...

T50 - The Parts Piddle Thread

I have a LOT of bike parts. I've not assembled my T50 yet because: I intend to create a basic assembly guide for the frameset, which requires lots of photos and step-by-step instructions I never build anything according to the original design I have LOTS of bike parts in the garage. I like to...

    T50 seat advice needed

On my bikes with more upright seat angles, I have doubled the seatbase foam (just shoved an extra original pad in the cover - it's tight, but can be done.) In some cases I cut a relief in the bottom pad for my tailbone; results of this were inconclusive. I have a squishy butt with sharp bones ;)

Just received my new T50 and needing some advice/help

So these folks have my absolute sympathy here. Been there, done that, the T-shirt was soaked in sweat. Those of you who've been around for a while may remember the Cruzbike Sigma, a long-wheelbase bike that was designed to incorporate arm-assisted power in a manner similar to the other...

    Sucess

I am thinking 700c x 25 will fit. 700c x 28 will be very dependent on what the actual size of the 28mm tire is. The tires vary a bit by manufacturer. I have an old lumpy set of 28mm tires I use to test this; I'll let you know what I find out. Hey Jack - lookin' good, man! Cheers, Doug

    Disc adaptor for Sofrider dropout?

A picture of the adapter is in this thread: http://cruzbike.com/forum/threads/frustration-thy-name-is.2383/#post-102383 Still looking for where I posted the drawing earlier...

    Disc adaptor for Sofrider dropout?

Front wheel will take a standard adapter. You'll probably get one with your caliper kit. I designed an adapter to mount a disc on the rear. It bolts to the two holes in the rear droput for fenders/racks, and requires a specific caliper mount to work with it. It's very simple and easy to make...

T50 - whatcha planning to build.....

If you feel like you need the locking clamp for the steerer tube, this will work. https://www.amazon.com/Jiyaru-Aluminium-Seatpost-Bicycle-Fastened/dp/B06VY9RVLR/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1499349401&sr=8-2&keywords=bicycle%2Btube%2Bclamp%2B28.6%2Bmm&th=1&psc=1 In the past, when I was working on...

T50 - whatcha planning to build.....

A few more details (I promise I'll compile all these observations into one post later, I promise!) Rear axle-to-crown clearance 368.25 mm. Headset bearings are helpfully pre-installed in the head tube, and properly lubricated. Seat cradle fasteners are very nice and pre-seated in the tubes...

T50 - whatcha planning to build.....

Frame just received (6:48 PM EDT.) Very nicely packed, which was not always the case in the old days. You are much more likely to damage this un-boxing it than the shipper is in shipping it. Be careful with those knives, folks! One number folks might like to have. The front fork axle-to-crown...

Nice job, Jack. I figured you'd be one of the first to get all this together. You've been around from the beginning. Experience shows. Well done! Best, Doug

T50 - whatcha planning to build.....

It's good that the steering column is a tight fit - the closer those two parts are to being one part, the better. However, if you need to get it off, just heat it up some with a hair dryer, and wiggle/pull it to get it off. Doesn't take much heat to open the diameter enough to loosen it. Rampa...

T50 - whatcha planning to build.....

A couple of things... My frame kit arrives Thursday 7/6, so I've not opened one up to inventory it/check it out. But based on what I read here, The "locking spacer" is redundant, although it can make assembling and adjusting the headset easier, before mounting the pivot clamp. As far as...

    Conversion Kit question

As I remember, this is an M6 button-head cap screw. 1.00 pitch. https://d2t1xqejof9utc.cloudfront.net/screenshots/pics/ec27ad88b852742fcc32d472da9adb65/large.jpg

    Fighting residual wobblies

Wobbles... This may help you or it may not. Folks who have been around here a looong time may remember I built a conversion kit bike on a discarded Softride MTB frame with a pretty reclined hardshell seat. The "Redbike" taught me an awful lot about the dynamics of MBB bikes. I remember taking...
